Remembering Fred Fay
The MS Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities has lost a good friend. Fred Fay, national disability advocate has passed away.
During the early 90′s Fred, Mark Smith and Justin Dart worked together on many disability issues. After being introduced to Fred by Mark, I had the privilege of working with him on several campaigns. What an intelligent and caring man.
Fred was proof that a person with a disability could do almost anything with the use of assistive technology. You see, Fred worked from his home in his bed with all of his assistive equipment. So many who worked with Fred never knew this.
The disability community owes Fred so much for the strides he made for us in his quiet but effective ways.
We will miss you dear friend, but we will never forget you and will always be thankful for having known you.
