Community Network Meeting this Thursday, November 17th

There will be a Community Network Meeting this Thursday, November 17th 3:30-5:00 in the Knight Nonprofit Center Banquet Room. Danny with Brandi’s Hope is the guest speaker to talk about a new program for individuals with disabilities coming to Biloxi/Gulfport area

  • Employment Resource Fair Results: 700 participants; 500 unemployed; 65 businesses/organizations. Thank you to all who participated! OEM is following up with those requesting additional assistance. If you know of job opportunities, please share them with our office. Packets are being distributed to employers to provide information on hiring those with disabilities.
  • OEM has begun a Homeless Supply Drive for Winter items. You can deliver to our office (Tues through Thursday). We are collecting food, good coats, gloves, tents, sleeping bags, thermal under clothing, and similar warm products. We will pick up large quantities.
  • The new Welcome Home Resource Guide is available to download at www.VA.gov and it is also attached to this email.
