South Mississippi AIDS Task Force is seeking a dynamic, motivated professional to lead the agency in partnership with the board of directors, staff, clients, and volunteers in serving citizens of the state’s six southernmost counties.

ORGANIZATION
South Mississippi AIDS Task Force is a private, nonprofit 501C3 AIDS service organization which provides case management, HIV/AIDS education, and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS in south Mississippi. Core services include temporary housing, education, prevention education, outreach, substance abuse services, testing, and counseling.

JOB SUMMARY
The executive director is the chief executive of SMATF. S/he is the primary laiason to the SMATF Board of Directors as well as the “face” of the agency. The Executive Director should be a dynamic
visionary and a strategic leader who can work e!ectively at the intersection of client care, sta! management, and grant management. Under the Board’s direction, s/he represents the organization to the public and must ensure that the duties and goals of SMATF are fulfilled. The Executive Director provides direction and leadership in formulating and achieving SMATF’s philosophy and mission, strategic direction, goals and objectives and identifies and responds to funding opportunities and
requirements for SMATF.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Masters
preferred
• Proven leadership ability
• Financial management/budget experience
• Fundraising knowledge/experience
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written; public and interpersonal)
• Non-profit knowledge or experience, including an understanding of non-profit finances and grant writing
• Familiarity with the role of a non-profit board and the Executive Director’s relationship with a board.
• Strong, compassionate people skills
• Ability to solve problems
• Willingness to travel

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Act as liaison with SMATF Board of Directors, implementing specific directives and general goals of
board and preparing/presenting monthly and quarterly financial reports and monthly organizational reports for board meetings
• Ensure reports to all regulatory and funding agencies are timely and accurate
• Expand and manage relationships with corporate and individual donors
• Develop and manage organizational budget in partnership with board treasurer, finance committee, and SMATF financial o”cer and ensure the control of expenditures
• Identify and respond to funding opportunities through grant writing and fundraising, including SMATF’s annual Bid for Life art auction and gala
• Manage and supervise employees and volunteers in daily operations of SMATF
• Act as the face of SMATF through public relations including media exposure, presentations at community events, responding to any media or government inquiries, and identifying partners in the local and broader community with which to develop mutually beneficial relationships
• Remain on call at all times• Assume such other duties as may be deemed appropriate by SMATF board of directors within the scope of the position Starting salary in low to mid 40’s depending on education and experience with excellent benefit package
